These terms govern your use of the Lingo Reign mobile application ("the app", "the game"). The app is developed and published by Roberto Amadio ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the app.
The game is free to play and supported by optional rewarded ads. An optional auto-renewing subscription removes the advertising it is described as removing, and is billed and managed entirely by Google Play. We may change the subscription's price, its renewal period and what it covers, and we may introduce new advertising and new subscription products. Changes never apply to a period you have already paid for, and you will always be able to cancel before a change takes effect. Section 6 sets this out in full.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, resell, rent or redistribute the app or any part of it, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction.
The app, its decks, artwork, text, names and code remain our property or that of our licensors. Nothing in these terms transfers any ownership to you.
The app is not directed at children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to use it. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the app only with the consent of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for any purchases made through the account. Making a purchase or starting a subscription requires the authority to use the payment method attached to the Google account in question.
The game awards virtual items — gems, postcards, codex entries, achievements and progress of other kinds. These exist only inside the app.
Progress is stored on your device and, if you are signed in to Google Play Games Services, in a cloud save under your Google account. We do not operate servers of our own and we cannot recover progress that is lost from both. Clearing the app's storage, uninstalling without a cloud save, or deleting your Play Games data will lose progress permanently.
The free version of the game is supported by advertising supplied by Google AdMob. Ads are currently rewarded: you choose to watch one in exchange for something in the game, such as continuing a reign or earning a gem. Watching is always optional, and declining only means you do not receive that reward.
We do not control which specific ads Google serves. What data is processed to serve them is described in the Privacy Policy. Ad availability depends on Google's ad network — an ad may sometimes be unavailable, and we do not guarantee that a reward can be obtained at any given moment.
The app offers an optional auto-renewing subscription that removes advertising, sold through
Google Play as product no_ads.
The current price, billing period and any introductory or trial offer are the ones shown in the app and in the Google Play purchase sheet at the moment you subscribe. Those screens, not this page, are authoritative — this page deliberately quotes no price.
We may change the commercial terms of the subscription and the monetisation of the game at our discretion, at any time, and for any reason. This section explains what that covers and the protections that apply when we use it.
We may, at any time and at our sole discretion:
How a change reaches you. Price and billing-period changes to an existing subscription are applied through Google Play, which notifies affected subscribers in advance according to its own rules. A change never applies retroactively to a period you have already paid for: it takes effect from a renewal on or after the date it becomes effective. You may always cancel before that renewal, and where Google Play requires your explicit consent to a price increase, the subscription simply will not renew at the new price unless you give it.
The advertising in the game today is rewarded video. We may introduce advertising of other kinds — including but not limited to interstitial, banner, native, offerwall or sponsored content — and may change where ads appear, how often they appear, and whether they are optional or unavoidable.
Your subscription removes the advertising it is described as removing, and nothing more. In particular:
Where a change of this kind would reduce the benefits of a subscription you already hold, we will make the change effective no earlier than your next renewal, so that you can cancel first and keep what you paid for until the period ends.
We may add, change, suspend or remove any part of the game — decks, languages, cards, advisors, missions, postcards, the level ladder, the revive and gem systems, balance values, cloud save, achievements or any other feature — and may release, delay or abandon updates, at our discretion. We do not guarantee that any particular feature, item or piece of content will remain available, and no subscription is a promise that it will.
We may stop distributing, supporting or operating the app altogether. If we withdraw it while you hold an active subscription, we will stop it from renewing. Refunds in that situation are handled under section 7 and under Google Play's policies.
All purchases are made through Google Play, and refunds are governed by Google Play's refund policy. Requests are usually fastest through Google Play directly. We cannot issue refunds ourselves, because we never receive your payment — we can only ask Google to reconsider a decision on your behalf.
If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days. For digital content and services supplied immediately, that right is lost once supply has begun with your express consent and acknowledgement — which is what you give when you complete the purchase and the subscription takes effect at once. Nothing in these terms removes a statutory right you have that cannot be waived by agreement.
The app relies on services operated by Google — Google Play Billing for purchases, Google Play Games Services for achievements and cloud save, and Google AdMob for advertising. Your use of those services is also governed by Google's own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability, behaviour or decisions of those services, including a sign-in that fails, an ad that does not load, a cloud save that Google does not return, or a purchase, refund or subscription decision made by Google.
You agree not to interfere with the app or with the services it depends on. In particular, do not attempt to obtain virtual items, ad rewards, subscription benefits or achievements by any means other than normal play — including modifying the app, tampering with its saved data, manipulating device time, using automated tools, or exploiting a bug or an ad network. We may suspend or terminate access, and remove wrongly obtained items or entitlements, where we reasonably believe this has happened.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. The game is a language-learning entertainment product, not a teaching service, and we make no promise about any learning outcome. Translations, romanisations and pronunciations are provided in good faith but may contain errors, and should not be relied on where accuracy matters.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of progress, virtual items or data. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us — in practice, through Google Play — for the app in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it; cancel any active subscription in Google Play first, since uninstalling does not cancel it. We may suspend or terminate your licence if you materially breach these terms. On termination the licence in section 1 ends, though sections 3, 10, 11 and 13 survive.
We may update these terms. The current version is always published at this address with a new "last updated" date, and material changes will also be noted in the app's store listing. Continuing to use the app after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms; if you do not accept them, stop using the app and cancel any subscription. Changes to these terms do not alter the price or billing period of a subscription period you have already paid for.
These terms are governed by the laws of Italy. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you also keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts there. The European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform is available for consumer disputes.
